It is a good laptop for the price. (buy it on sale $ 524.50)
It has a good processor without being too powerful, faithfully fulfill their duties.
If you use the pc for office work, multimedia, programming, design of medium-high... this pc is perfect for you.

It has some powerful speakers, which are undoubtedly the best of the laptop.
No other series of notebook computers sound as good as these.

The design is excellent with a good finish.
The keyboard layout is correct and functional ... perfect for those who write many lines of programs. With a few days of use are very comfortable.
The cooling system works perfectly, very quiet, the temperature of laptop manteniene quite low.
Before I had a HP tx2500 series and could not hold it in your legs for a few minutes ... This team does not have this problem and virtually eliminates the myth that AMD processors are a burner.
The HDMI port allows connection to monitors and high definition TV ... and eSata port, almost flying ...

But all is not perfect, you have some details that is good to know ...
Like other comments on the laptop, the power cord is very close to the output tray dvd drive. Of course this is not a problem if you do not open and close the pan constantly. Just take caution. This also can be solved if you buy generic controller with link type "L", then move away the cable tray area.

Although the finish is very good and avoid getting fingerprints on the surface is not the finish of the keys and the touchpad ... able to pick up any trace of use.
The touchpad itself is very sensitive by default, requiring adjustments before its continued use ... any way if you want to use the touchpad, has 4 USB ports for connecting a mouse.

The CPU has 3 cores which help in multitasking processes ... but for the common user this is not very helpful and recent lack of level 3 cache.
The lack of a backlit keyboard require its use in places with enough light, if affected by shadows can be all-black. (Unless you have a vision 20/20) And this is strange, because other series notebook computers have this capability.

The battery that comes standard is very short with constant use. Although it has installed an application that extends the time ... not made ''many dreams ... this laptop is not to forget the charger.
The webcam is technically deficient, must have good lighting if you want to appear either in the chat ... and still is the worst no doubt this laptop ...

There is greater detail and deals with equipment specifications... Amazon and AMD offer this machine with a AMD M880G chipset, plus a graphics card ATI Radeon HD 4250.
The truth is that there is no M880G chipset for notebook platforms, or at least not found anywhere toshiba representative of the technical area. (nor I found on the web).
All the programs you use in Windows to identify hardware, recognized the chipset motherboard as a "SB 700/800" and "NB 780/785G".
The Hypertransport is only 1800 (Existing now would help a lot faster than the lack of L3 Cache)
Only the command "lspci"in a Linux Live CD, video card identified as "M880G ATI Technologies Inc [Radeon Mobility HD 4200]. "

If you are aware of these details, for sure will be a very satisfying purchase. And highly recommended.
By the way, which is welcome, it is the small amount of additional software that comes bundled ... which greatly facilitates the removal of any unneeded applications and leave the laptop manufactures almost clean.

Dispone de un buen procesador que sin ser muy poderoso, cumple fielmente su cometido.

Si utiliza el pc para trabajo de oficina, multimedia, programacion, diseño de medio-alto nivel y algun otro uso... este pc es perfecto para usted.
Posee unos poderosos parlantes, que sin duda son lo mejor del laptop. Ninguna otra serie de equipos portatiles suenan tan bien como estos parlantes.

El diseño esta excelente, con un buen acabado.
La distribucion del teclado es correcta y funcional... perfecto para aquellos que escriben muchas lineas de programas. Con unos dias de uso se sienten muy comodas.
El sistema de refrigeracion funciona a la perfeccion, sumamente silencioso, la temperatura del laptop se manteniene bastante baja.
Antes tenia una HP de la serie TX2500 y era imposible sostenerla en las piernas por unos minutos... este equipo no tiene ese problema y practicamente elimina el mito de que los procesadores AMD son una hornilla.

El puerto HDMI permite su conexion con monitores y tv de alta definicion... y el puerto eSata; practicamente vuela...

Pero todo no es perfecto, tienes unos detalles que es bueno conocer...
Como otros comentarios respecto al laptop, el cable de corriente esta muy cerca de la bandeja de salida de la unidad dvd. Claro que esto no es un problema si usted no abre y cierra la bandeja constantemente. Solo hay que tener precaucion. Esto tambien puede solucionarse si se adquiere el regulador generico con conexion tipo "L", pues alejaria el cable del area de la bandeja.

Aunque el acabado es muy bueno y evita el dejar huellas sobre la superficie; no lo es el acabado de las teclas y el touchpad... que permiten captar cualquier rastro de uso.
El mismo touchpad es bastante sensible por defecto, lo que obliga a realizar ajustes antes de su uso continuo... de cualquier forma si no desea usar el touchpad, tiene 4 puertos usb para conectar un mouse.

El CPU posee 3 nucleos que ayudan en procesos multitareas... pero para el usuario comun esto no es de mucha ayuda y se reciente de la falta de cache de nivel 3.
La falta de un teclado retroiluminado obliga a su uso en sitios con suficiente luz, si hay sombras puede verse afectado por ser todo completamente negro. (Al menos que tenga una vision 20/20) Y esto es extraño, por que otros equipos portatiles de la serie tienen esta capacidad.

La bateria que viene estandar dura muy poco con uso constante. Aunque viene instalada una aplicacion que permite extender el tiempo... no se haga muchas ilusiones... este laptop no es para olvidar el cargador.
La webcam es tecnicamente deficiente, necesita estar en una habitacion con buena iluminacion y aun asi sigue siendo deficiente.

Hay un detalle mayor y tiene que ver con las especificaciones del equipo...Amazon y AMD ofrecen este equipo con un Chipset AMD M880G, ademas de una tarjeta grafica ATI Radeon HD 4250.
Lo cierto es que no hay un chipset M880G para plataformas portatiles, o por lo menos no lo encontro en ninguna parte el representante de toshiba del area tecnica.(ni tampoco lo encontre en la web).
Todos los programas que use en windows para identificar el hardware, reconocen la tarjeta madre como un chipset "SB 700/800" y "NB 780/785G".
El Hypertransport es de solo 1800 (Existiendo ahora mismo mas velocidades que ayudarian mucho por la falta de Cache L3)
Solo el comando "lspci" en un CD-Live de linux identifico la tarjeta de video como: "ATI Technologies Inc M880G [Mobility Radeon HD 4200]".

Si esta consciente de estos detalles, de seguro sera una compra bien satisfactoria. Y altamente recomendada.

Por cierto, algo que es de agradecer; es la poca cantidad de software adicional que viene incluido... lo que facilita enormemente la desinstalacion de algunas aplicaciones inutiles y deja el portatil practicamente limpio de fabrica

I really love this laptop. I got it in the mail yesterday. The speakers are great! and it's very fast. I think iTunes even runs faster since its a 64-bit. In all, it's definitely a good buy. Toshiba is the way to go.
